Reality Food TV

Wednesday September 19, 2007
Restauranting has never been more fashionable. With networks such as the Food Network featuring cooking based reality shows, competitions and celebrity chefs all over the place, it is no wonder so many people want to open their own restaurant. Many individuals go into the restaurant business with stars in their eyes and thoughts of Rachael Ray-like success in their head. I say, snap out of it! The most important thing to know about restauranting is that is a lot of hard work. Hard work that isn’t always accompanied by a steady paycheck! If you go into the restaurant business thinking you will get rich quick, you are in a for a rude awakening. Ask anyone of those Food Network stars, and they’ll confirm it. They put in a lot of long hours to get where they are today. Success in the restaurant business does not happen overnight. Disclaimers aside, there is a lot of information to be had from food related television. Recipe for Success is one show I particularly enjoy. It features a new food-based business each week and gives a candid glimpse into the trials, tribulations, and joys of starting your own restaurant. So, if you are thinking of starting your own food business, whether a restaurant, catering service, or gourmet shop, settle in for some entertaining reality TV, and see if you can come up with your own Recipe For Success.
