A new restaurant just opened up in my neighborhood. While I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, a good friend of mine did. The biggest impression it made on her? On the menu was "Fresh Muscles" rather than "Fresh Mussels." Oops. Certainly not a deal breaker, but not great for first impressions either. It shows how important it is to proof read your menu several times (and by several pairs of eyes) before printing it. I only hope the restaurant owners didn't laminate the menus.

Ha Ha ! You that that was funny, how abut this: Fr years I have been enjoying the delicious foods of my local dive Vietnamese restaurant always going back and ordering my favorite, # 32 dish. I always thought it was a Vietnamese special, PROK, but discovered later that this was NOT a Vietnamese special, but it was in fact, simply PORK spelled incorrectly ! It’s funny and kind of quaint in a neighborhood ethnic restaurant, but misspelling on a traditional professional menu is just unacceptable !
On the menu of my restaurant prior to us taking over, we served Mexican Frut cake I think it had been like that for about a year. Needless to say we reprinted menu once we had control of the place.
It was an ongoing joke amongst the staff.
Long before I owned a restaurant, I would search out typos on menus and was regularly appalled at what I found.
I have always thought that, if a restaurant is so careless about what appears on its menu, how much care do they put into their food?
In this day and age, with spell-checkers in every word processing program, there is simply no excuse for a menu filled with typos!
