
Healthy menu choices, for both children and adults are among the hottest trends for 2013. After years of finger pointing by public health advocates that the restaurant industry is a huge contributor to the obesity epidemic in America, it would seem that some restaurateurs are taking steps to offer healthier options.
1800 chefs polled for the National Restaurant Associations What's Hot survey were asked "Are you making efforts to adjust dishes/recipes to be more healthful, for example, by using more fruit and vegetables or reducing sodium?"
A whopping 55% answered Yes, always, while 37% answered "I try, but not all recipes are easily adjusted." Only 7% said no.
