It's Not Too Late to Register for the 2008 National Restaurant Association's Food Show

There is still time to register for the NRA Food Show, taking place May 17-20, in Chicago at McCormick Place. If you haven't ever attended a restaurant food show, this is one you don't want to miss. It has everything from food and drink samples to uniform and tableware vendors.

Here's The Low Down

2,100 companies will be at the show, along with 60 free educational sessions. They also have pretty cool demonstrations. The year I went there was a guy creating ice sculptures with a chainsaw. I don’t know how this related to restauranting, but it was pretty neat to watch.

Ask your food vendors, such as Sysco or PFG if they are participating at the NRA 2008 Show (most likely they are). You may be able to finagle some free passes or even a fully funded trip to Chicago- I did.

A few things to keep in mind before registering….

  • You must provide a business card or tax id number to register, since the show is not open to the public.

  • No one under 16 is allowed into the show- so you get to leave the kids at home!
  • Find all the details about the NRA Show 2008 at their registration page.

Hi Lorri – Thanks for the tip about getting in free, I’m the founder of a startup, http://www.boorah.com/ and would like to be able to be able to get an invitation( and for free would be great). We offer a great number of services for restaurant owners and consumers.
